ECSL has awarded the work to carry out the Midland Mainline Electrification-Point Cloud Feature Extraction of Route Section 5 & 6.

Summary of Works

To enable the client and stakeholders to develop the design, ECSL aided in creation of geographically accurate Topographical 3D models from Trent Siding to Nottingham, Chaddesden Sidings (Derby) to North of Toadmoor Tunnel for 30 kms of railway features.

Key Advantages & Benefits

ECSL in house procedure of production and quality assurance ensure Topographical 3D model is of highest quality possible to +/-20mm.
The geographically accurate 3D models will enable the client and stakeholders to assess their options and advance with the upgrade design process.
The created topographical map provides a ‘desktop inspection’ environment, minimizing the need for the surveyors and designers to visit the railroad. Mapping of 35 over bridges and 23 under bridges along with 6 stations are the key.
The accuracy and flexibility of the Topographical 3D models will enable the designers with the possibility to complete the upgrade design quickly and efficiently within budget without compromising on quality.
