A railway cutting close to Newington in Kent had failed causing the closure of the route between Sittingbourne and Gillingham.
ECSL were responsible for the design of a new retaining wall and slope remediation providing ground stabilisation to the failed cutting. ECSL also provided design of ground investigation and detailed design of a new king post retaining wall on the opposite cutting slope where ground monitoring identified further ground movements.
